A multimedia learning and memory space for children, teenagers and adults that moves and stirs.

On April 29, 2025, together with ZWEITZEUGEN eV, the Korte Foundation and the Adolf and Margot Koelman Foundation, we opened the exhibition “BECOME A SECOND WITNESS” at the Gebrandenhof in Essen-Stadtwald.

Eighty years after the end of the war, the issue of antisemitism and misanthropy remains relevant. The stories of that time must be told; it is up to us to pass them on, to show civil courage, and to become second-generation witnesses.

The exhibition tells the stories of Holocaust survivors Henny Brenner, Chava Wolf, Wolfgang Lauinger, and Dr. Leon Weintraub. Dr. Weintraub survived four concentration camps, including Auschwitz-Birkenau, and continues to fight against antisemitism. His life story can be traced in the exhibition.

The exhibition is open to everyone aged 12 and over. Admission is free.
