fundraising campaign
Every year, the team participates in the 24-hour race “Rad am Ring” on the legendary Nordschleife at the Nürburgring, raising funds for BSFK.
In 2019, we were able to finance a long-awaited exercise bike for the sports therapy program at the pediatric oncology ward at Essen University Hospital. In 2020, we renovated a climbing frame at the German Child Protection Association’s “Spatzennest” (Sparrow’s Nest) daycare center, and the following year, we had a temporary riding arena prepared for equine therapy and covered the rental costs during the winter months.
In 2022, the children of the St. Josef home were thrilled to receive a donation of a Big-Sup for paddling on the Ruhr river, and the following year we were able to hand over 25 children’s bicycles to 3 different institutions.
In 2024, an inclusive tricycle for transporting children in wheelchairs, worth around €12,000, was purchased and handed over to the association LiV (Leben in Vielfalt – Living in Diversity).

How did you become aware of BSFK?
Jörn and I met at the German SUP Championships in 2018. From then on…
We were in regular contact and more and more things turned up that I could help with.
motivation
“At BSFK, you’re always right there with them. You see so often where and how quickly our help arrives. And how happy and grateful the children are in those moments. These are usually very moving moments, and you might even get a little teary-eyed. And that’s exactly what makes it so special. These moments are touching!”
