Play For Kids

In August 2024, we launched “Play For Kids,” likely one of our most innovative and unique fundraising campaigns for team athletes. The Heisinger SV, a district league team, and the professional equipment supplier Playermaker are co-initiators. Now, the first men’s team of the MTG Horst handball club, playing in the Oberliga (fourth division), is also joining our joint project.

concept

The linchpin of the joint action is the brand new Playermaker 2.0 tracking kit, which Playermaker normally provides to the professionals of Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 to measure and record the individual performance level through numerous performance parameters of the players.

Goal

With the help of its own donor network, “Play For Kids” aims to raise funds for BSFK projects for every kilometer run (i.e., measured). Of course, the tracker’s versatility (25 measurable metrics) also allows for other fundraising or seasonal goals to be set.

Donation options

Anyone who wants to encourage our participating teams to achieve top performances and support Be Strong For Kids at the same time can donate here “DONATE NOW Donations can be made via the Betterplace platform (see link for current teams) or by sending a donation to Heisinger SV or MTG Horst. Donations can be made per kilometer run or as a flat fee. The final total donation amount for each team will be published at the end of the season. All proceeds will go directly to supporting BSFK and thus benefiting sick and socially disadvantaged children and young people in the Ruhr area.

Always up to date

The campaign and all related information can be accessed and followed via the teams’ Instagram channels throughout the entire season:

Further planning

The “Play For Kids” concept is intended to be adopted in other sports as well. Cooperation with basketball, hockey, and handball teams is planned. Once the Playermaker tests have been successful in these other three sports, we aim to offer four teams annually from the aforementioned sports the opportunity to participate in this unique initiative for team sports. The participating teams are free to choose which tracked parameters they ultimately use for your year-long fundraising campaign.

participation

Have you always wanted to determine and evaluate your personal performance level during a game, just like the professionals , and are you willing to do something good for children and young people who are not as fortunate as you?

Then, starting March 1, 2025, send us a video message from your entire team via Instagram and tell us why your team should be part of the second edition of “Play For Kids” next year. The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2025.

After the application deadline, we will provide the four winning teams with a tracking kit for a full season.

Start 2024

We’ll keep you updated via our social media channels and our teams are now starting what we hope will be a high-energy (and goal-filled) season!
